Camp Director Position
Reports to: Camp Board of Directors
Classification: Full-Time, Salaried plus housing if required.
Location: Pickett Lake Camp, Florida (Mayo, FL)
Position Available: May of 2026

Overview:
Pickett Lake Camp exists to glorify God by providing a Christ-centered environment where lives are transformed through gospel-driven camping experiences. As a ministry of our cooperating Southern Baptist churches, the camp seeks a passionate, mission-minded leader to steward its facilities, operations, and programming with excellence and integrity. While this job is for a camp manager, it is also that of a missionary.
The Camp Director serves as the chief administrator of Pickett Lake Camp, responsible for the strategic, operational, and spiritual leadership of the ministry. This includes overseeing summer camp operations, year-round facility management, donor relations, guest services, promotion of camp, expanding base of clients, and financial stewardship.
This is a hands-on leadership position suited for an individual with a strong calling to camp ministry, a servant’s heart, and the capacity to manage diverse aspects of camp life with diligence and discernment.

Qualifications:

A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the doctrinal beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention. Will be asked to share testimony with search team and possibly the board of directors.

Active membership in a local Southern Baptist Church

Demonstrated experience in camp ministry, facility operations, or related leadership roles.

Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in computing skills for things like Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar computer programs, budgeting, administrative systems, audio/video equipment and programs.

Ability to meet the needs any needs the camp may have, plus preach all in the same day when needed.

Servant hearted leadership and a passion for reaching the next generation with the Gospel.

Eye on the future of the camp to grow its client and financial base, add staff, and delegate responsibilities when needed.
